My * very * first genuine review on mCaffeine Scalp Scrub
Is it worth the hype? Does it actually work? Any adverse skin reactions that you should look out for?
I will be answering all of your doubts here, in this article!

I have tried best to describe my experience in detail . You can also scroll down to the bottom of the article to see a brief list of pros and cons of the product.
mCaffeine recently hosted a BUY ONE GET ONE offer on their site, which I was desperately waiting for. I’ve been eyeing their Scalp and Body scrub for a while now and finally got a chance to purchase them.
I decided to use the scalp scrub first as I was already planning to wash my hair the day it arrived. So I thought, why not give it a shot?

I searched for videos on Youtube first to see how to use their product. They have uploaded the same on their channel. You can check it out below-
So, here are my observations after using it for the first time:
Very easy to apply and spreads smoothly!
The product is a kind of flow-y liquid or gel with coffee granules or beads. When I started applying it, I was amazed with how easily it spreads all over the scalp and hair. All one needs to do is gently massage your scalp with finger tips. So, points for easy application.
Be careful not to rub it vigorously, can cause breakage
If you are using it for the first time then make sure
- YOUR HAIR IS WET. ALWAYS.
- DON’T RUB!!!
I went through the comments under a few beauty vloggers’ videos and many people advised to apply it gently, since they complained of having increased hair fall otherwise. So please be careful about that.
Coffee granules all over the floor but very easy to clean
yeaaah after I was done covering my scalp with the product, I looked down and was horrified to see my bathroom floor decorated with coffee granules that had somehow managed to fall while application.
Great news is, you can splash some water onto the floor and they will happily sweep away along with the water.
Almost no cleaning post-application! YAYY!
Loads of water required
It was really upsetting to realize how much water I needed to rinse off the granules but I think that’s the case with every body or scalp scrub.
I first rinsed my hair using a bucket and water but it didn’t seem like it would go away with just a few mugs of water.
I had to switch to the shower to wash off rest of the product.
Does what it promises
The mCaffeine Coffee Scalp Scrub claims to remove over 99% of dandruff in just a single wash, and for someone who runs store to store and website to website in search of miraculous treatments for dandruff, this DEFINITELY WORKS!
I have been using Bhringraj oil along with a medicated shampoo(as prescribed by my dermatologist) and it has been a really effective solution for my stubborn dandruff.
But I thought of trying mCaffeine for a change and, also wanted to check out the hype about it. (DUH)
Might require b*ttloads of shampoo
I had to use 3–4 pumps of my medicated shampoo which, not to mention, is kind of expensive and comes in a palm sized bottle. I always have to make sure I use it judiciously.
So, I think I will stick to using this scrub just twice a month and rest of the time I will be relying on regular oiling to keep my dandruff under control.
MY REMARKS:
Definitely worth the hype and totally works. I haven’t noticed any adverse effects as of yet.
The texture of my hair is relatively smooth (only the upper portion of my hair where I applied it) which is an added bonus for someone who has dry hair.
Since I used the mcaffeine scalp scrub for the first time, it worked out quite well.
To summarize the article, here is a list of pros and cons for your reference ;)
PROS
- Smooth application, no fuss
- Actually controls dandruff
- Easy to wash and to clean thereafter
CONS
1.B*ttload of shampoo needed
2. Like other scrubs, requires lots of water to completely rinse off
